William York Macgregor 1855-1923

William York Macgregor, born in Glasgow, was a prominent member of the Glasgow Boys, co-founding the group with James Paterson after training at Glasgow School of Art and the Slade School.

He travelled widely on the Continent a decade after the formation of the Glasgow Boys, and exhibited regularly at the Royal Scottish Academy, twice at the Royal Academy, and in later years lived at Bridge of Allan.
