  • > John Duncan Fergusson
1874 - 1961
John Duncan Fergusson, one of the Scottish Colourists, spent many years in France. He returned to Scotland during the Second World War, settling in Glasgow with the dancer, Margaret Morris. Fergusson's paintings reflect the influences of impressionism, fauvism and cubism absorbed early in his career; his love of music and dance account for the vitality in his work.
