Norman Ackroyd travelled extensively throughout the Scottish Highlands and Islands in the 1970s. Travelling as far afield as St Kilda and Shetland to make images of the light and atmosphere, he immediately felt at one with the landscape and history.
Norman was born in Leeds in 1938. He was elected Royal Academician in 1988, and is a Senior Fellow of the Royal College of Art. His work is held in numerous national galleries and museums worldwide.
